I first began posting here at DA in the spring of 2015. Back then I was a little uncertain of myself, a little shy about approaching more established Deviants with my early work. Even then, however, I recognized DA as a safe outlet for the darker side of my personality (I'm convinced we all have one even if we don't care to admit it) as well as a place to write out and share the lurid bondage fantasies I'd had since adolescence, fantasies I'd always considered unhealthy if not downright perverted. It's a secret I've guarded so zealously that to this day, no one in my inner circle--family, close friends, co-workers--so much as suspects I belong to DA let alone writes Damsel in Distress stories here. My double life.
With the passage of time I came to realize that (a) I was by no means alone in my fixation on lovely young women stripped semi-naked as a prelude to being gagged and tightly bound, and (b) my stories were actually tame compared to some of the material posted here. (I take a pass on women being sliced open, hanging by their broken necks from a gallows, or having their breasts milked by the sort of machinery you see on dairy farms) Early on I made a very public vow that none of my heroines would be raped or otherwise violated. Yeah, right. If you're even passing familiar with my
oeuvre, you're aware that Jillian, Laurel, Kendra, Jade, Jenna and the hapless Marshal Laramie are routinely on the receiving end of what I politely term transgressive sex. Only Dana Brand, in many ways my breakthrough character here, has managed to weather the past couple years of mayhem with her virtue intact. Say hello, Dana.
The stunning 3D render above is the work of
perhaps the first Deviant to give me feedback and more important encouragement. He even created, gratis, this image of Dana for me. I remember my breath hitching in my throat the first time I viewed the image he'd sent me because she was so stunningly lifelike.
She even has a mole on her right breast, I thought. I caught a lucky break when
agreed, somewhat warily, to consider one or two of my tales for his Boundiary gallery. I am grateful to both of you for your faith in me.
Late that summer I began to notice the work of a young English lad calling himself
I contacted him by Note, somewhat hesitantly, and asked if he would like to try his hand and creating 3D renders of my OCs. After reading one of my Jillian Kensett stories, DLM labored long into the night on his laptop to produce this for me:
Classic. We've been creating bondage mayhem together ever since. I don't get to work with
as often as I'd like for the simple reason his services are very much in demand and I have to take a number and wait in his commissions queue. I am nothing if not patient. I've also established a good working relationship with the incomparable Daniel of
who conjures up some truly breathtaking visuals to order to me, oftentimes in a matter of hours. The image at the top of this journal entry did not exist this morning. Daniel put it together over the course of one afternoon. Remarkable. You may not recognize the lovelies roped to the rails in the path of the 5:15 from Muncie, the reason being I've shamefully neglected two of them. Jade Lockett, my version of Kate Beckett from
Castle, is on the left. Espionage agent Kendra Dare, last seen bound to a giant rotisserie while baking over industrial grade heating coils, is in the middle. The lass on the right is Brianne Mercado, my newest OC. She's Cuban-Irish, though beyond that she lacks a backstory. I plan on partnering her with Kendra in the near future to see what sort of peril they can land in. For now, Jade, Kendra and Brianne have fallen into the clutches of the fiendish Mistress Tatiana. Note Tatiana has lashed them to the rails at necks and ankles to ensure they won't squirm their way off the track at the last moment. Poor girls, lying on that limestone ballast between the crossties in their designer swimwear. Whoa, was that a train whistle?
Another Deviant worthy of mention is the erudite Danny from
who has most generous with his insights, his critiques, and above all his keen eye for prose in need of being polished, having edited academic journals and peer-reviewed articles most of his adult life. Though the chances of our ever meeting in person are vanishingly small, I have come to value your friendship and consul, Danny.
I crossed the 100 Watcher threshold in February 2016 and made it to 200 by August of that year. It's taken a while to attain 300, but I took encouragement from seeing my Watcher ranks creep upwards through the 260s and 270s in spring of this year. I hoped to hit 300 by summer's end. Watcher 300 signed on last Sunday, and I've acquired six more since then. It continues to amaze me that the allure of DiD seems to transcend gender (more than a few of my Watchers are women) nationality and culture. New Watchers in July alone include Canadians, Mexicans, Brits, Germans and Norwegians, a Pakistani (!) and a gentleman in China, People's Republic of. It's comforting to know I'm in such good company.
Thanks, everyone.
